Food Buffets have been a big part of the Philippine food culture. We all love a good buffet as the sight of abundance of food is something that excites us and our tummies. There are a lot of choices for buffet spots across the Metro, and another buffet spot is a welcome addition for foodies like us.
Chef Boy Logro is known as the Kusina Master where he whips up delicious dishes in a breeze. It's not a surprise that he opened his own restaurant, 7 Flavors in San Juan. It opened last May 2015, and had been satisfying a lot of foodies for it's wide selection of dishes at an affordable price.
Sosh and I wouldn't pass up this invite to try the dishes at 7 Flavors. We dropped by at dinnertime on a weekday. The place is big and the interiors were really modern. They have ample parking spaces, which is a hard to find in San Juan.

Japanese cuisine is one of the fast-rising cuisine that was welcomed by the Filipino palate with arms wide open. It is inevitable as a lot of Japanese big food chains have opened here and you can have your fill of Japanese dishes anywhere, from high-end down to hole-in-wall types.
Fresh from our honeymoon as newly wed couple, Soshi and I was craving for something Japanese. Luckily we got an invite from Ramen Cool West Ave to try out their dishes.
Ramen Cool is a simple Japanese restaurant which offers a variety of Japanese dishes like rolls, sushi, sashimi, donburi and ramen. Currently they have 3 branches all across the Metro. Their interiors and ambiance is comparable to the clean and minimalistic approach of the Japanese.

Another Zomato Foodie Meet-up!
When life gets too gloomy and you feel stressed, we all crave a bit of sunshine to get us through the day. I have been to that phase because of work training, wedding preparations, basically everything in my life had been too much to take. So when Zomato invited me for a foodie meet-up at one of the sunniest resto in the metro, how can I not say yes?
Milky and Sunny started spreading their sunshine at their first branch in the foodie haven, Kapitolyo. It was pegged as an all day breakfast place that everyone loves to hang. Pia Magalona, one of the restaurant owners mentioned that they wanted to share the charm of Milky and Sunny here in Makati.
What I love about Milky and Sunny is their ambiance and interiors. They really stood up to their name because the place really attracts a lot of sunshine. High ceiling, warm cozy interiors, you can't help but feel happy as you dine here. Now, let's talk about their food. They have an extensive menu as most of their dishes are inspired by Pia's kids favorite dishes, hence most of the dishes names have their name on it. Take a look at some of the dishes we tried:

The foodie scene in Jupiter Street is certainly coming alive, thank to the different diverse restaurants popping here and there. It makes our lives harder and at the same time, exciting. Our tummies flutter at the mere thought of "Where do we eat?" as choices are vastly immense, you'd want to try everything.
In the recent AMPR Bloggers Appreciation Night, the AMPR Digital and Marketing team invited us bloggers for dinner to share with us their milestones and introducing more partner brands, which included Cuore Bistro and Social Lounge.
Cuore is an Italian word for "heart", which describes the dishes that they offer in their homey bistro. It is definitely a cool place to hang out with and catch-up with friends because of their cozy atmosphere. Let me share what Cuore prepared for us that night:

Whipped Salon is a beauty salon which specializes in sugar waxing and body scrubbing. They have a quaint and vibrant store in three locations, BGC, Alabang and Quezon City. I partnered with them for me to try their services so you'll have an idea what to expect.
Sugaring or sugar waxing is a hair removal method similar to waxing. The only difference is that sugar waxing uses a sugaring paste which can be applied to the skin on room temperature, unlike with waxing that uses hot/warm wax.

This is a continuation of our Zomato Food Run adventure. Zomato Food Run is quite similar to a food crawl, but the main difference is that we are crossing 3 different cities and trying out dishes from 5 different restaurants . We're trying to conquer 3 prominent foodie location, BGC, Makati and Paranaque.
Our next stop is a dessert place which somehow wraps up our complete feast for the day. We dropped by Sugarhouse Glorietta. Just in time, Sugarhouse was celebrating their 33 years in business and we got to meet the owner. I never imagined that they have been serving good quality cakes and desserts for that long. I've been passing by the Sugarhouse branch in Glorietta for almost 8 years now, eversince I started working in Makati. I was able to try their cakes way back then, and they sure are good.
This time, I am happy because I get to taste all their bestseller desserts. Talk about sugar overkill, I don't mind dying coz I know I'll go to sugar heaven. :)
Here are some of the desserts we had that time:

After a heavy paella meal at Arrozeria, our third stop for the Zomato Food Run is at Charlie's Grind and Grill in Salcedo Makati. I first tasted these fine grilled Charlie's burgers at their Kapitolyo branch (read my post here). Charlie's introduced us their 3 new burgers. Imagine consuming 3 different types of burgers after having a good paella!

After a nice yoga workout session at Life Yoga, you'll definitely crave for something to fill up your tummy. But the idea of fast food will make you cringe because you've put up so much work into that yoga session to waste it by binge-eating on foods that does not help with your fitness goals.
Luckily, Vibe Cafe is literally beside the Life Yoga Studio. They serve healthy meals and drinks that will complement all the workout you've exerted in their studio. You will never feel guilty because their meals were designed to make you full, while giving you a dose of macro nutrients that your body actually needs after that hot yoga sesh.
Vibe Cafe is a quiant cafe located beside (inside as well!) the Life! Yoga studio. It is a one stop quick shop for health buffs (of hungry foodies as well!) who has a grumbling stomach after an intense workout. I was invited to try out their dishes before they go fully announce it to the public. They were on soft opening when I visited them.

Despite some few rain showers we are experiencing, It's not too late to have your own dose of summer. The summer heat is still inevitable specially in the afternoon. Of course, the humid heat is prominent in our tropical country, but it is excruciatingly unbearable paired with the summer season. Chelsea Kitchen brings you some new dishes to help you cool off.
Chelsea Kitchen is introducing two new items in their menu and I was lucky to have a sneek peek (and taste as well!) these items. They are introducing the Teddy Bear Iced Latte and Kitchen Scramble.
We met up with Michelle at Chelsea Kitchen SM Megamall for a quick chat and to try these two items. Since one is a drink and the other is a form of dessert, Michelle offered us some snacks to go with it. Here are the items we munched on that afternoon:

Being a soon-to-be bride, I was extra cautious now about how I looked. I took extra care of my skin and revamped my skincare to achieve that bridal glow. I know that moisturizers and a skincare regime are part of the prevention process, but we cannot deny that the effects of the harsh environment and stress already have taken their toll on our skin.
Gone are the days when I was too afraid to go to beauty salons for fear of ruining my genetically blessed clear skin (thank you Mom for your nice genes). I am now more open to trying beauty treatments to further enhance my complexion and eliminate the harsh effects of the environment on my skin.
Revlite is a non-ablative laser that uses PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse (PTP) energy for quick full-face treatment options with no downtime and minimal discomfort. Revlite is extremely safe. It penetrates the skin to stimulate collagen and diminish wrinkles and acne scars.
Skin Pro Alabang is one of the beauty salons that offer Revlite treatments. I was invited to try their Revlite treatment for the face and I was happy to oblige.

Another pampering day at KitcheNails!
Our feet is considered one of the hardworking parts of our body as it carries our whole weight all day. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most neglected parts. Once in a while it is best we pay attention to our footsies and give them a day off.
KitcheNails is one of my favorite salons for a hand and feet pampering session. As you walk inside their store, you'll get a whiff of sweetness which instantly boosts your mood. It's as if you walked into a candy shop with all the sweet treats waiting for you.

Zomato invited me to 121 Resto Bar and Grill for their first ever Zomato Quiz Night. I've been to other quiz nights before and I must say it was one fun activity. So when I received the invite, I was stoked and immediately said yes.
121 Resto Bar and Grill is known for their "kanta rooms" or rooms where you can sing with friends while enjoying good food. They currently have 5 braches and their newest branch is in the newly renovated Bonifacio Stopover. The BGC branch is a bit small and compact. They have 2 kanta rooms, a common area inside for dining and an al fresco area. 121 Resto Bar and Grill is not a KTV place, but a bar that serves food and drinks. They have themed nights as well in different branches like poetry night, acoustic nights, open mic and of course quiz nights.
121 Retso Bar and Grill warmly welcomed us foodies from Zomato for a night of fun and games. I think there were more than 20 foodies who came and participated in the quiz night. Here are some of the dishes we munched on to get our brains pumping for the quiz night:

Filipino cuisine is one that is closest to my heart. Despite the diverse selection of different cuisines in the Metro, I will always say yes to it on any occasion. A lot of restaurants have opened up, introducing different regional Filipino cuisines. One of those is Naimas Taste of Home Makati.
Naimas Makati is a homey retaurant located at the busy streets of Amorsolo. It is tucked between those corporate Makati buildings. As you come in, you'll get a warm ambiance. Naimas offers mostly Ilokano cuisine but there are also other Filipino favorites. My heart skipped a beat because Ilokano dishes are truly amazing (BAGNEEET!!)
Luckily, I have been to Vigan (check out my post here) and have tasted authentic Ilokano dishes. Aside from the ever fan favorite Bagnet, there are also intersting Ilokano dishes to try like Sinanglao, Pakbet, Igado, etc..
Team Aldous visited Naimas one afternoon weekend for some lip smacking food adventure. Here are some of the dishes we tried that afternoon:

If you've read my Saladbox Holiday Box post, you'll see that I got one ticket to the Saladbox X Benefit Makeup workshop. I was excited to attend because I knew it'd be the bomb (coz it's Benefit!). I reserved a slot last February at Benefit Greenbelt. But then there were some changes so the available slot I got was the one at Benefit BGC.
I love Weekend Markets. It is a place where you can discover new finds and new things to try. It is filled with budding entrepreneurs, passionate to share their new found baby to the world in terms of product and services. It is a good place to check out new food trends that will eventually be the next big thing.
I was invited to the 6th Mandala Park Weekend Market. Mandala Park is Litton and Co.'s wide and green open space which is transformed to a weekend market every month. It aims to treat visitors to a slew of homegrown merchants that is eager to promote the local culinary scene.
The merchants that weekend was well curated and diverse. There were different stalls that offer international food fare that will surely satisfy your craving.

Snacking is one part of our eating habit. Sometimes, because of our busy life, we settle for snacks that are high in calories like fast food and processed food. Fret not because Mug Shots are now available in the Philippines! They are tasty and at the same time convenient to eat. No, you don't need a mugshot and feel guilty while eating these snacks
If you follow my blog, you have read my view of Saladbox and my not so good experience. I have long forgiven and forgotten about my not so good experience with them and decided to move on, yet a box on my doorstep is a big surprise. It's like an ex who suddenly pops out of the blue and revives all the feelings you have that were long buried deep in your heart.
A pink box came in on the latter part of January. Let's just say that Saladbox's courier was too busy that they delivered their holiday box too late. Whatever reason they have, the important thing is my 3/4 Saldbox subscription came. And the redeeming factor, which made me giddy and excited all over, was it was a dainty Benefit box.
Saladbox teamed up with world renowned brand, Benefit for their holiday box. Saladbox have hinted the collaboration in their social media sites, and I was one happy gal because I was one of the few (I guess) who got these boxes. Let's take a peek of what's inside this dainty pink box:

Food Bazaars and Hawker Weekend Markets are sprawled everywhere and shaping up the foodie scene. For a limited number of days, you get to choose from a variety of dishes from different vendors at an affordable price. Most of the vendors that join these bazaars are budding entrepreneurs that has a product they wish to test out in the market.
On their second installment, Valero Eat Street is again opening their doors to eager foodies to give them a glimpse of the food scene in Salcedo. The foodie festival was held at Signa Residences Makati, a posh residential place squeezed in Makati CBD. Valero Eat Street is at the al-fresco atrium of Signa Residences, which made the whole deal comfortable despite the scorching humid heat.
Of course, I can't pass this opportunity up when Zomato invited me as one of their VIP guest to check out the scene. It is literally a foodie's dream! Here's what's waiting for us VIPs that day:

Another Zomato Foodie Meet-up!
I love going to Zomato foodie meet-ups because I get to know other fellow foodies and bond over good food. So despite my crazy schedule, I was able to squeeze some time and marched to Greenbelt for a foodie meet-up.
Mr. Pizza is considered Korea's number 1 pizza chain. They have hundreds of branches in Korea until they decided to bring it here in the Philippines. Mr. Pizza Greenbelt is the first branch here in the Metro. I only have heard of Mr. Pizza, thanks to SNSD's Lion Heart video. I was wondering about the difference of a Korean pizza as compared to our own local pizza.
As you enter the place, you'll be greeted with a pizza counter where they make the pizza and a loft seating area at the left side. We were ushered to the loft area which was overlooking the pizza counter. You can clearly view how your pizza's gonna be made. My lion tummy was excited! Here are some of the items we tried that night:

Beauty Treatments have been on the rise because more and more people (including men) have been consciously making an effort to be aesthetically pleasing to one's eye. Gone are the days that you have to go under the knife just to get the instant results you want. With the advancement of technology, the rise of Radio Frequency and Laser treatments are one of the known treatments to address pressing beauty concerns with less downtime, non-evasive and instant results.
Clarence Dermatology Center is one of the beauty clinics that specializes in anti-aging, slimming, and other dermatological issues. They've been up and running since 2009, personally managed by dermatologist Dra. Joan Clarence Morallo.
I remember 3 years ago, I went to their clinic to try their Lipo-Cavitation treatment for me to achieve that bikini-ready body. They started by offering basic facials, diamond peels, RF and Lipo-Cavitation. Now, Clarence have moved to a bigger location offering a wide range of treatments to cater different beauty concerns utilizing the most advance technology.
Recently, they invited me as they launch of 2 of their newest machines, the Cynosure Palomar Icon and the Alma Beauty Reform Machine. These two machines have the most advanced laser technology that delivers instant results with almost no downtime.

Aside from the ever-known Mercato group, one of the dominating hawker-inspired bazaar is from BAGA Manila (BBQ and Grillers Association). I've been aquainted with BAGA Manila two years ago in Makati Ave. Every weekend, the parking lot near A.Venue Mall transforms into a hawker market filled with assortment of things and a lot of smoked and grilled dishes.
BAGA Manila conquers the northern side of the Metro, thus the birth of BAGA Libis. Imagine my excitement when a hawker market opened just a few blocks from home. It's like every foodie's dream! What caught my attention one night when we visited BAGA Libis was this particular stall, Carnival Delights. Take a peek into what we enjoyed munching on that night:

It's been a while since I went a foodie meetup. Work and wedding preparations had filled up my schedule for the whole month of February. An invite for a foodie meetup from Zomato was a nice break for me to unwind after a stressful work week.
The foodie meetup was at Taisho Ramen in SM Light Mandaluyong. It was the second branch as the first branch is located at Skydome, SM North Edsa. Their interiors resembles to a typical Japanese restaurant. They have an open kitchen where you can see how they prepare your ramen.

Agape is a Greek word which means selfless and unconditional love. It is considered the highest form of love and it is the kind of love we receive from God. It was inspiring to know that there are restaurants built on the concept of Agape or selfless love.

After our pampering sesh at the newly opened KitcheNails Trinoma, Team Aldous headed to Congressional to have a late dinner at Agape Pastries and Tartines. Agape is considered a refuge for people looking for some spark and inspiration to go through life.

Yoga is an traditional form of exercise that originated in India. Yoga aims to bring harmony in your life by putting your whole body in sync, mind, body and soul. There are a lot of types of yoga that you can try. The first time I wet to a yoga class, I was confused after. I didn't know if I'm doing any of the poses right. It didn't felt anything. My mind, body and soul was so out of sync.
But after a few classes, I was able to sync my body through breathing exercises. Once I found my rythm, every yoga class was as effective as a 1 hr Zumba class. I was perspiring like crazy despite the limited flow of movements.
I was not the only one who fell in love with yoga that time. Almost immediately, a lot of yoga studio opened and Yoga was on the rise. Most women, like me loved yoga to every bits.

Kitchenails Trinoma: A unique Nail Salon to feed your senses
Fashion and Beauty Sunday, February 21, 2016
KitcheNails is a newly opened nail salon at Trinoma. The concept of the nail salon is quite unique as the whole salon exudes scents that will make your tummy flip. KitcheNails is a culinary-inspired nail salon which features a unique way to pamper your hands and feet (and even your nostrils).
They opened a few weeks ago, and I was lucky to be invited to try their services. I rarely go to a nail salon because my nails are pretty low maintenance. I just keep them short and clean and that's it. If I'm feeling a bit adventurous, I'd sport a nail color.

Gone are the days where store chain coffee shops dominate the cafe scene. With the rise of third wave coffee, and the demand for better coffee at an affordable price from coffee connoisseurs and enthusiasts, the coffee scene is becoming more and more interesting. Quality coffee much cheaper than chain brands, a relaxing vibe and a working (and stable!) internet connection, no wonder that Commune Makati is one of those places everyone raves.
Commune have been getting lots of love from the Makati yuppies ever since they started at their Salcedo branch. Now, they relocated in a much hipper environment in Poblacion. They miss the love from the working crowd in Salcedo, but the Poblacion yuppies and residents have been so awesome and extended their love to Commune.
Aldous invited us foodies to meet the owners of Commune. Apart from coffee and pastries, we were there to try some new dishes that Commune is about to introduce to their patrons. Here are some of the items we got to try that night:
