Sweet Garlic Chicken

Monday, July 15, 2013

Searing is a process of cooking that creates the crusty surface texture most people find appealing and the caramelized sugars that gives us that flavor we want. I personally like searing chicken rather than frying it. For this recipe, you may opt to oven bake the chicken for a more healthier choice. I was browsing through my recipe books and magazine to look for a recipe I could use as "pambaon". I bumped into this recipe in my Yummy food magazine October 2012 issue. I like searing meat to the same degree of sauteing it.

SWEET GARLIC CHICKEN

Ingredients:

- 4 ( 125 g ) chicken breast fillet
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Season chicken with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Set aside to marinate in the ref for at least an hour.
2. In a non stick saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic, saute until fragrant
3. Add chicken and sear on both sides for around 4 minutes each.
4. Sprinkle brown sugar on the top of the chicken. Sear for another 2 minutes or until has melted and chicken is fully cooked.

Serve with rice and steamed vegetables.

Enjoy!
