Movie Date picks this Valentine's Day Weekend

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that everyone anticipates, not only for the people who are in love but also for those who believe in love. Valentines brings out the best in every one of us. The desire to express love is stronger on this day.

Since Valentine's Day falls on a Friday which coincides with a payday, Valentines weekend will surely be very busy. Everyone is busy thinking of ways to make this valentine weekend a blast and of course to impress that special someone.

For those who would have the typical Movie Date to start off the weekend, Here are 3 movie suggestions that will make your valentine's special:

- Starting Over Again

This is Star Cinema's Valentine treat for their 20th anniversary. It stars Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga in a story about a love that was once lost and rekindled. People who have experienced love, being loved and love that was lost can greatly relate to it. The trailer looks promising so as the story line. I personally like to watch this movie and see if how they would start again.

- Winter's Tale

Winter's Tale is an adaptation of Mark Helprin's book (under the same name). It is a love story between two people who hoped and believed in miracles. It was whimsical and really a tearjerker. The movie tugged my heart and will make you believe that Miracles do exist. What I liked about it is that Colin Farrell will make you cry and believe in love despite his awkward hairstyle. Added bonus: Birdy's song "Wings" matched well with the movie.

- The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie is a feel-good movie. If you don't prefer sappy love stories this valentines, this one would surely entertain you. This movie is not only for children but for adults as well. With the catchy song "Everything is Awesome" by Tegan and Sarah, one will surely want to sing along and feel awesome after watching it. I've heard several times people singing it after watching the film. It will really make your day awesome!

I hope this list helped you narrow down the choices of movie to watch this weekend.

Let me know which one you liked best!

Enjoy Valentine's Day with the people you love!
