Whether you're planning to ring in the New Year in your pajamas or under the fireworks, these traditions are bound to add a sprinkle of magic to your celebrations.
- Have a clean and clutter-free house for a fresh and clean start. They say that a cluttered house has a cluttered mind.
- Prepare Prosperity Bowl and the 12-13 fruits spread. It is believed that 12 symbolizes good luck for each month of the year. Some people make it 13 fruits to have a bit of bonus luck.
- Wear red or with polka dots to attract love and money this new year. Circles symbolize prosperity, just like coins. So, wearing polka dots or having round fruits on the table is believed to bring a year filled with financial abundance.
- Always have money in your pockets during New Year's Eve so you'll have money all year round.
- Eat 12 grapes from 11:59 until midnight and at the same time make a wish. This is to ensure a sweet and fruitful year ahead. Grapes are packed with antioxidants and vitamins, so you're not only inviting luck but also giving your body an antioxidant boost!
- Roll Oranges/Mandarine fruits at the entrance of your house to symbolize money coming inside the house.
- Fireworks or making noise to ward off evil spirits. Loud noises are believed to disperse negative energy and bring in positivity. Plus, it's a fantastic way to welcome the New Year, with a bang!
- If you are young, jump when it strikes 12 so you'll get taller. A bonus tip is to jump off from a higher place to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new.
- No cleaning for the whole day of January 1 due to the belief that you will clean away the blessings that came in the new year.
- Keep everything ON and Open inside the house as the clock strikes 12, to attract all blessings inside the house.
