Review: Ristorante Bigoli Eastwood

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

I was invited by the people from Zomato and Bigoli Eastwood for a Foodie Meet-up. I was excited because there will be good food, good company and lots of fun.

Foodie Meet-up
Zomato is an app that compiles the list of restaurants and establishments in the Metro. It serves as guide that is very helpful especially for foodies (like me!) if you want to know the best food places in the area. You can write a review to help other foodies give an insight on how the restaurants fare.

Ristorante Bigoli Eastwood takes pride in offering Italian Cuisine. They are located at Eastwood Citywalk 2 and have ample space to dine in for it has a second floor. They also have function rooms that you can conduct meetings with. We also got to meet Jerome Mitra, their Marketing Manager that day.

For starters, We had their yummy Parmesan potato chips, Strombolli and famous soft and out-of-the-oven breadsticks.

Parmesan Potato Chips
The potato chips have been crusted with a generous amount of parmesan which gives the chips a sharp taste. I didn't mind the grease on my fingers since this was appetizing.

Stromboli
Stromboli is their own version of rolled pizza. You can choose from the 3 variants, Pepperoni, Bacon or Kitayama Beef.

Breadsticks
Ristorante Bigoli is known for their soft and out-of-the-oven complimentary breadstick basket. It was my first time trying it out and I say that it is indeed good. Just be mindful of the portions because the breadsticks would get one full already. You don't want to get full, specially if there are still yummy dishes to try.

For their pasta, We had the "Tour of Italy", a combination of Lasagna, Carbonara and Spaghetti Bolognese. Their pasta are good, which is just right for the Filipino tastebuds. As we all know, Filipinos like their pasta a bit sweet on the side.

Tour of Italy
We also had a taste of their Spaghetti al Pesto and Spaghetti Marinara. The pesto was superb. The marinara was okay, but I've tasted better marinara.

For the main dish, We had a taste of their Bistecca Macinata, Kitayama Wagyu Beef Roast and their famous Italian Chicken.

Bistecca Macinata
Bistecca Macinata consists of grilled Kitayama Wagyu Burger Patty topped with Bigoli’s savory red-wine gravy, cream and sliced mushrooms served with Italian rice and Mixed vegetables. The Kitayama Wagyu burger are good, enough to satisfy the palate of meat eaters.

Kitayama Wagyu Beef Roast
Kitayama Wagyu Beef Roast is smothered with Bigoli’s Special Red Wine-Gravy served with Italian rice, buttered mixed vegetables & real mashed potatoes. These are good as well.

Italian Fried Chicken
Ristorante Bigoli's famous Authentic Italian Fried Chicken was a hit for me. It may look like a Korean Fried Chicken, but the chicken was smoldered with a special sauce which definitely tasted Italian, and not soy-based. It was so good, I can't stop munching on it. One should not miss to order this one.

We also got to try their in-house dressert, Popsicle Gelato from Stickhouse. There are a lot of flavors to choose from, but I settled for the Mango flavored popsicle. You can never go wrong with Mango. One must devour the popsicles as soon you get it because it melts fast in our humid temperature.

Bigoli introduced their new gourmet pizza flavors, Pizza Tropicale and Pizza Capricciosa. We get to taste it through a guessing game hosted by Zomato. We were blindfolded and was asked to guess the ingredients of the pizza. It was fun because our team won. (Yay!)

Sampling everything had my stomache bursting with happiness. If you are around the Eastwood area and craving for affordable Italian cuisine, why not try Ristorante Bigoli? They will not disappoint.

Thanks to Katrina and Sarah of Zomato Philippines for inviting me for the Foodie meetup and for Jerome for being so nice and accomodating. For more information about Ristorante Bigoli's yummy menu and current promotions, visit their Facebook page and Twitter page.
